The amount of skills I have learned in MiXchange is quite amazing! I think a great place to start would be that I have learned ‘hands-on’ skills. In 2021, the auditorium project was introduced. We found ourselves ripping up carpets, drilling holes in the walls, building scaffolding, and so many other great things that I would never have been introduced to if I was still in the world system!

I have always enjoyed art and design work, and I’ve always done it in school and as a hobby… but there is such a difference between doing it for your own self-pleasure and doing it for a purpose. The design work and creative thinking that I have learned from this amazing team have been life-changing. I enjoy it in a whole new way and even though this is a skill that is continuing to grow as I am Xchanging… I wouldn’t say it’s the biggest thing I have learned in MiXchange.

What is the biggest skill I have learned?

A big practical skill that I have learned and that God has really helped me with is speaking in front of people. Yes, those the other skills are awesome skills that I have learned while being in MiXchange, but I can’t deny the fact that God has completely changed the way I am able to speak to people in both a public and private way. He has helped me with courage and boldness in the way that I speak about Him and about His Word. 

When I came to MiXchange, I had a prior label of being ‘shy’ and ‘introverted’ and all of those words that had been spoken over me had been bearing fruit in my life. Ps John and Ps Sharon have been teaching us the power of our words and that the words that you speak over your life will produce because you are a powerful speaking spirit. Ps John activated us last year to start declaring that we must be bold and courageous in the things that we do and when the 2022 MiXchangers arrived, Ps John brought Joshua 1:8-9: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” 

Praise the Lord. The real moment where I understood and recognized the change God has done in me is when Bill and Ginger came to South Africa and we went to Diepsloot to lead people to Jesus. The Holy Spirit brought a boldness in me that I have never seen nor experienced before. I am changing in Him every day and I praise God that I’ll never be the same!
